About Belize Wings
and your guide, Fermin Tzib
Fermin Tzib is a Belizean of Maya descent. He completed his early education in Belize
before residing in Illinois, USA for two years. While there, he studied Agriculture, and Bird Biology at Cornell.
He returned to Belize where he worked in the field at the Mayan temple site, Caracol, cataloguing
birds and other wildlife. The work was undertaken for the Wildlife Conservation
Society (WCS) and funded by the New York Zoological Society. The development of Caracol into Belize's flagship Mayan tourist attraction led to Fermin's interest in tourism.
Fermin went back to school and was one of the first to receive the Belize Tourism Certificate.
Subsequently he has received certification in SCUBA diving. He has worked extensively
throughout Belize and portions of Guatemala. He has guided many trips for
International Expeditions, The Nature Convervancy, Audubon Society and Smithsonian.
Fermin has varied interests but is especially knowledgeable in birding. He pursues this
interest whenever possible, even attending birding symposiums in
the United States on numerous occasions.
Fermin believes in personal services and will tailor
any itinerary, whenever possible, to meet your exact needs.
